ISCEA Pakistan launching an education series to help spark the supply chain light in Pakistan youth

WHY THERE IS NEED TO AGILE SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT ?

Seminar Conducted by ISCEA in Collaboration with DPA ( Department of Public Administration | University of Karachi ) in continuation of Capacity Building Programs in Pakistan for the Young Professionals and University Students . 

Need to Focus on Supply Chain Management Studies.

KARACHI (APP): A seminar on supply chain management was held at the Karachi University campus on Tuesday.

The moot was organized by the Department of Public Administration, University of Karachi.

The Dean of the University\'s Faculty of Management and Administrative Sciences, Prof. Dr. Khalid M. Iraqi, in his message said that the objective of this program is to promote the significance of Supply Chain Management as an academic need for the youth of the universities. 

The increasing demand of efficient and effective supply of products to end-users requires expert and well-educated people conversant with the value of the whole supply chain management process. 

He said that the knowledge of supply chain management in present times will help them improve their capacity for competitive advantage in the global markets.

Prof. Dr. Khalid M. Iraqi appreciated that the Department of Public Administration for initiating the teaching of Supply Chain Management as diploma course. 

He further said that the Vice Chancellor of Karachi University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser, was determined to support all new courses to enable the university sustain in the academic and research competition in the world.

The guest speakers included Rizwan Malik, Azhar Qadri, Zeeshan Ilyas and Ismail Hasan and those from organizations dealing in a variety of business areas including airline, media, drilling, and consultancy. 

They highlighted the vitality of understanding the supply chain process as it not only concerns an effective transportation and supply of end product to customers but also in many cases prove great value for human life. 

Especially, sensitive vaccines like that for polio need great care, safe keeping and timely supply to the consumers, and any delay in the supply chain system could put life of thousands of people at risk. 

Dr. Shabib ul Hasan, Chairman, Department of Public Administration, emphasized that besides graduating in the areas of banking, finance and marketing, it has become equally vital that our youth entered into the field of logistics and supply chain management. 

He thanked the guest speakers for their valuable information for the students and the faculty of the department and also presented them souvenirs

ISCEA and SCNext Pakistan will continue action packed initiatives to create supply chain leaders in the country
